Well, you gotta deal with what came along later, you cant pick and choose, and there was a news article in part 5 saying he was a child molester. It happened, it was in the same mythos the first film created...so just suck it up and deal with it

FvJ exist in some weird space within the universe. It's importance in the Nightmare mythos is small. Even then, we are talking about his backstory...FvJ takes place after he was killed.

Lastly, if we want to get more technical than necessary, this girl :

wasn't a child. I don't think we can argue that his attractions to this bytch symbolize some sort of sexual desire for 5 year olds. It's certainly the only time in the franchise where he tries to sleep with someone.

Freddy's victims are always symbolized by the three children jumping rope. We are never lead to believe that he went after teens until he came back as a spirit or whatever he is. Him Pawgin in FvJ doesn't mean that those parents burnt him alive because he was molesting their children.
