That’s on her. She never wanted to be looked at like a black actress. Well, the problem is white people were never going to accept you so we were all you had. And I get her point. When people think of black female celeb royalty, she’s mentioned sometimes but not how she should be. We say Angela Bassett, Phylicia Rashad, Viola Davis, etc. a lot more than Halle Berry. She’s mostly just mentioned for her beauty. She doesn’t get the same level of respect in terms of being an elder in our community.

But how can they be fully black when they aren’t fully black biologically to begin with? :dwillhuh:

Its just a matter of culture bro..... Mulattos in North America dont have the same history of treachery and betrayal like the mulattos in Africa and the islands.

The reason the line is drawn in other black nations is because mulattos have double-crossed and betrayed the African so many times.

Mulattos have literally waged war on Africans in other places....Its not the same in North America.

Different cultures.

i thought all ADOS were technically mixed.

comes down to phenotypic expression of those genes.....if we getting fancy..
I can rock with that.

But if all of Ados is “technically” mixed, then someone like Halle could never be considered black because she has a whole white parent on top of the aforementioned Ados admixture. I’m just going with what the Coli been telling me :yeshrug:

True that. But to me, the biracial dynamic in America ain’t nothing but the “I’m white and I say so” rule and negros went along with it because we’re powerless here. White daddy says you black then you black…even though I might be closer to my non-black side and never met my black grandparent :skip:

It is what it is though I honestly couldn’t give a lesser fukk.

She made bad choices and cant open a movie to save her life

:yeshrug:

Not her fault. There are now in Hollywood only a handful of people who can open a movie that's non franchise or IP and have folks support by name alone

:ohhh:

Unless she means that it affected the roles and her standing with Black America?

None of those movies are good except for xmen.
They don’t have to be good, she’s saying she wasn’t getting looks after Monster’s Ball which is cap. She was still starting and costarring in blockbuster movies for a good decade after MB.
