Still years away.

Xbox management….:mjlol:

I remember when they were trying to convince us bringing crystal dynamics to help make the game was no big deal, totally normal. Every studio “outsources”

:yeshrug:I honestly can't see MS managing all the studios they have added the past couple years
Reading articles on this Microsoft is hands off. The studio leads development style is causing the turnover. They brought on Crystal Dynamics their former studio because that studio is more familiar with their development style.

Its not the development style, microsoft isn’t actually doing any management of the studio so they aren’t hitting any deadlines or internal goals.

The article says it's the leads development style
Insiders describe ‘fast and furious’ exits from Xbox’s Perfect Dark studio | VGC
The former Initiative developers VGC spoke to attributed the wave of departures to frustration among senior talent over the direction of the project set down by Gallagher and game director Daniel Neuburger (who himself left the company last month).

Although The Initiative’s website claims that the company promotes a “collaborative” creative environment, former employees described the studio’s development hierarchy as very ‘top-down’, with Gallagher and Neuburger keeping a strong grasp on creative decisions.

According to the former employees, many senior team members were frustrated by this perceived lack of autonomy and didn’t feel heard on key issues such as development priorities, project planning and team staffing.

Gallagher and Neuburger, who were previously studio head and game director at Crystal Dynamics, wanted to make games the way they always had with top-down direction, the sources said, while many Initiative employees were expecting a more bottom-up approach.

As a result, it’s claimed that development has progressed “painfully” slow and a solid company culture never formed. All former employees VGC spoke to said they were surprised at how lenient Microsoft had been over the lack of progress.

They honestly thought they could just throw a bunch of money at studio and not do any actual managing of them

Now allowing a studio to work on their own time is a bad thing.

Other way around y’all would claim Microsoft is wrong for forcing devs into things.

Whatever angle you goofys can run with is where y’all go.

None of this is “new” they hired a whole ass studio last year.

“insiders” just took a couple tweets and made a whole a story about it.

In reality it’s hard to build a new game from scratch and it’s even harder to build a new studio from the ground.

This game was never coming any time soon. All of this means nothing until the actual game comes out.

But I know……Stan on breh….have your fun.

phil Spencer: “whats the problem do they need more money??”
I mean it's either let the studio leads do what they were put in place to do of fire them. Phil Spencer isn't a studio lead. Same situation with Ken Levine over at Take Two. His game has had turnover and been in development hell for a decade. Either you fire the lead or cancel the game.

Yeah, i mean starting a studio from scratch usually means you have to install a internal management team that makes sure the studio is properly growing and hitting deadlines. Microsoft has not been good at building new studios.

Kojima productions had actual developers form playstation on their game. Mark Cerny was a co-lead on the game, and Xdev helped build it along with Guerrilla Games Decima engine.

Microsoft just isn’t there yet

There are no deadlines to meet. They were built as an incubation studio. They didn’t even have a project at first.

Once they got the project, then it was time to get the right team in place. That ment some people leaving and hiring a whole other studio to work on the game.

It makes sense employees would leave. This is just like an NFL team drafting a skilled player in the first round. Whoever’s already in that position Is probably on their way out.

Lies. Every studio they’ve “built” had been very successful.

Only “failed” studio that had was lionhead.

Kojima productions had actual developers form playstation on their game. Mark Cerny was a co-lead on the game, and Xdev helped build it along with Guerrilla Games Decima engine.
So they had a huge head start?
Makes sense :ehh:

Sony stans :mjlol:
