Imagine thinking Hakeem is a better scorer than lebron, there’s literally nothing you can reference that supports this besides “having more skill” :laff:

Hakeem is a much much better defender than Lebron. He's a much better shot blocker, he's a better ball stealer than lebron. He's better clutch player than Lebron. He's a better rebounder (both offensive and defensive) than Lebron. Oh and he won his first 2 titles with one of the least impressive supporting casts ever while Lebron had to join a super team to win his first 2 titles.

You mean like the Bulls never facing a Hall of fame Center in the Finals?

Or how Rockets were 8-2 against the Bulls? :lupe:

Or how the bulls eliminated the same teams that habitually sonned the rockets in the playoffs , in the finals

Btw how many hall of fame centers did the Lakers, sonics, jazz have? They needed none while eliminating Hakeem 4x(2 sweeps)

That’s not as much of a ridiculous statement folks tryna make it out to be. Even outside of his back to back title runs...

Early in his career when he had a legit team around him, Hakeem & Ralph Sampson took down the Showtime Lakers in the Western Conference Finals during their era of dominance.

That’s damn near worth a ring in itself. Granted, they lost to the Celtics in the Finals (but didn’t get swept).

Then there’s the fact that he’s still the only player ever to win Defensive Player of the Year, MVP, and Finals MVP in the same year.

At their peak, I’d say it’s pretty close.

Lebron was an elite defender in his prime and came in second in dpoy that 2012 season, the only reason he didn’t win was because the voters didn’t want to give a player dpoy and mvp in the same season... so I’m not buying the Hakeem was an overwhelming better defender, and comparing a center’s rim protecting to a perimeter player is redundant.

Hakeem’s rebounding and rim protection doesn’t compensate for the advantage bron brings with scoring and facilitating while also being a great defender.

Hakeem is WAY underrated on these boards, I have him top-5 all-time, but this thread.... :snoop:

Hakeem is easily the better scorer, and its not even close. And also more variety in his scoring
:dahell:

I'm guessing you missed the first 8 or so years of Hakeem's career when he wasn't even a great scorer, just a guy who used his athleticism down low. It took Hakeem a LONG time to become a effectively diverse scorer, that was just mid-90s Hakeem not 1980s Hakeem.

Still, Hakeem is underrated as a scorer because even though his numbers weren't great compared to other all-time players, he was just as effective in the playoffs as he was in the regular season, sometimes even more so.

But better than LeBron? More variety than LeBron? :gucci:

Show me his range (I'll give you a hint - don't go past 15-16 feet or so). Show me how he breaks down guys from the top of the key. Or more bluntly, show me how he only averaged 51% on twos as a big man (never better than 53% in any season) while LeBron averages 55% on twos as a perimeter player?

Top 5 defender of all time of any position, blows Lebron out the water on that
The one place you're right. Even though LeBron is a great defender for his position, Hakeem's impact on that end as an elite big is much better. Hakeem's a more impactful rebounder too.

Just think, the only thing Lebron is better at is Athleticism and Passing. But at the same time Hakeem is no slouch on either of those
LeBron is a better shooter, driver, ballhandler, passer, perimeter defender on guards, has higher bball IQ and was a better leader.

Hakeem was no slouch on anything, peak Hakeem was the most well-rounded big ever, but LeBron still has a lot of advantages.

His playoff run in 1994 with no other all star on his roster was equal or even better than Lebron coming back from 3-1 against the Warriors
I agree with you that it was pretty equal to what LeBron did against the Warriors. The big problem for Hakeem being that he has an awful lot of early playoff losses on his resume outside of those two big years. A lot of those losses weren't his "fault", but he can't really pull ahead of LeBron on playoff record or even big moments.

He's better clutch player than Lebron.
:why:

What do you even mean by that? :skip:

He WAS a better scorer you fukking idiot.

Hakeem doesn't have the scoring volume or efficiency to be better there is literally nothing you can show me that hakeem is better than bron at offensively besides post moves.

nikkas really trying to argue hakeem is a better scorer because of footwork and ignoring the numbers. :laff:
