Hakeem to me is the best modern center period. Shaq was nice but he was just physical and never got the charge calls that he was supposed to.

Man as a Spurs fan that's hard to watch. Hakeem did David so wrong. It dont matter which big man that would've been on the other side Hakeem would've murked him in those 95 playoffs.

People always say that Chicago would've won 2 more titles had MJ not retired, but Hakeem would've given Chicago the business

I think they would have at the very least split, and it wouldn't shock me if they were able to beat the Bulls in both series, since the Bulls would have been without Horace Grant one of those years.

94 Bulls with Mike would've won, Hakeem's supporting cast was :scusthov:

95 though, can't call it

Didn't Mike himself say he wasn't sure if the Bulls could've beaten them those years?

Idk the Rockets had a good cast around Hakeem, they werent great on paper but they fit nicely around Hakeem. They had shooters all over the place with Cassell, Kenny Smith, Mario Elie and Vernon Maxwell's crazy ass. He had post help with Otis Thorpe and Robert Horry too.

But really can y'all imagine what Hakeem would've done to Bill Cartwright? LMAO

And beyond that, it would have been coming off the Bulls going to 3 straight NBA finals.

There's a reason why the last team to WIN 4 championships in a row where the Celtics back in the 60's. The shyt is exhausting both mentally and physically. It's presumptive as hell to think the Bulls would have even made it to the finals that year let alone gotten there and won.

Many back then would suggest that Hakeem played 'like a little guy' with all those moves(not a knock but his style was more akin to small ball). Certainly that style for a center was rare back then....funny how today half the centers play a smaller style of ball with more jump shots and more foot movement that ever before. Not than ANY of them today could do what Hakeem was doing....but interesting to see the traditional skill set of that position change over the years.....BUT.... they still are not effin with Hakeem the Dream

You right about that. Think about that for a second; the Bulls use to relatively be a healthy team during there 1st 3-peat so that means they played darn near 100 games 3 straight years. They would have had to be exhausted and almost unmotivated to go for a 4 peat

The Rockets guards struggled almost the entire series against the Knicks. Imagine what the Bulls perimeter D would do. Hakeem would likely drop 40 a game though, no argument there.

'95 is a toss-up because the Bulls didn't have Horace, and Dennis didn't get there yet. The addition of Drexler, and the shooters they had were shooting lights out that entire postseason.

Nah, Hakeem still played like a center, he just incorporated a jumper into it. He built his entire post game around the jump hook and being able to get that off, which is why he has so many counters and fakes. David Robinson had the "small style" more so than Hakeem, he's really the center most guys emulate without even knowing it.

Guys today have horrible footwork compared to the centers 20 years ago, you see Dwight working on his post game and it's so robotic and stiff looking.
