Airport Crossroads' Declared 'Resistance Crossroads' by Mural in Port-au-Prince

999u1i_byyj38

On Tuesday, one of two days declared by the opposition to remember the 135 who have died, 22 in the past four weeks, in protests for President Jovenel Moïse's resignation, a mural was erected at Carrefour Aeroport, a crossroad where different branches of the movement have been meeting before marching up to Petion-Ville.

The photos were posted by musician Bastia Guerchang on Facebook. He is part of a group called Kolektif Atis Angaje (Coalition of Conscious Artists - KATAN). Other members of KATAN as well as the public were present for the mounting of the mural.

On October 2, 2019, two dozen artists of KATAN signed a letter calling for President Jovenel Moïse's resignation and destruction of the "oppressive system" in Haiti.

Pro-Democracy Movement in Haiti Swells Despite Lethal Police Violence
The crisis in Haiti has neocolonialist roots in the United States and Canada.
