Haiti's President Jovenel Moïse was assassinated while under the protection of a security apparatus "from the United States itself" says Haitian political analyst Patrick Mattelus

The Haitian people wanted the President to leave office but never wanted him killed. "So the discussion needs to be there: Who killed the President? Who ordered the President to be killed?"

Jovenel Moïse had been virtually silent for a month before his assassination, even in the aftermath of the massacre of 17 people in Delmas 32. "Where was the President?" asks Patrick Mettelus.
