Nearly every press entity & individual (even some in the "opposition") who recently spread rumors about Aristide's health in #Haiti, from @lenouvelliste to @claudejoseph03, had a role in the 2004 coup & ushering in foreign military intervention. Think about that.

The Haitian Press was acquired as a joint venture between USAID and Canada's CIDA over two decades ago. What saved #Haiti so far, by giving the poor majority a voice, is the post-coup citizen journalist movement, in addition to a few outlets that did not sell out.

It is now commonplace for corpses to litter the streets of many poor neighborhoods of #Haiti's capital. Forensic evidence isn't necessary as gangs of various stripes regularly take video of the killings they commit to put on social media in a macabre competition.

Gangs calling themselves "revolutionary" & claiming affinity with Lavalas show true colors by demanding Ariel Henry be installed as #Haiti's PM. Henry was a key figure in the 2004 coup against Aristide serving on the foreign approved & unconstitutional "Council of the Wise"

Today would have been official swearing in ceremony & installation of Ariel Henry as #Haiti's newest handpicked Prime Minister by late president @moisejovenel. Claude Joseph claims constitutional authority effectively putting GNB hardliners at the head of #PHTK ruling party.

This effectively ends any possibility of Ariel Henry assuming office as Prime Minister in #Haiti. PM @claudejoseph03, a frmr GNB activist who provided cover for 2004 coup, has made clear he is now in charge of the govt.

Opposition politicians from several tendencies in #Haiti reportedly met this morning warning international community not to use assassination of @moisejovenel as a pretext for another foreign military intervention. PNH Chief Leon Charles left meeting w/US Embassy 30 ago.
