I'm not feeling all the downing of Jodeci to big up H Town....But that aside....H Town was another example of Lukes genius....They did a song called "They Like It Slow" that was HQ music.

how were they an example of luke's genius exactly?

they squandered their prime on luke records.

not downing jodeci at all. im a fan of them too.

but they seem to be on the throne(EDIT: for that era), and when youre on the throne, youre subject to such criticism and comparison.

besides, h-town & jodeci is still down to this day.

the bolded albums were all about the singles.

there were a good number of groups that made better albums than jodeci in '91-94.

h-town's 1st 2 albums are classics. only one arguable skipper on their 1st album. 2nd album had 1 filler and maybe 1 or 2 arguable skippers out of like 22 tracks.

H Town v Jodeci is actually a very interesting comparison. Jodeci probably have the better album overall but H Towns first 3 albums are a serious problem.

yea. im saying tho:

1st album: jodeci's new jack swing game was type-weak. and that's like half the album. only 1 uptempo I really mess with on there.

the 2nd half of DOAMB was cool, but skippable.

I can easily condense jodeci's 1st 2 LPs into a one-hour session without feeling any skimmer guilt.
