I recommend Santo Domingo then . It offers better restaurants and nightlife.
There's also the colonial zone and museums for history , and idk how soon you planning to go
but DR is currently going through their season of baseball.

Mine was sick, we kept I basic af and went to Punta Cana, The single brehs are nicely off the tourist lol (american, UK, Colombian and Arginine girls)

Also people are friendly, especially if you show an interest in their culture if you go off the resort. My mistake was going to towns close to the resort.

I wanna go back but with my girl, or one of my guys who like to actually adventure. We did that in Cuba, Jamaica, COL and the US. I'm trying to get him to go to Japan/Korea, but he put all that away and only travels with his girl now.

I wanted us to go to Iran or iraq which everyone would enjoy (sexy women for the single guys and beautiful historical sights rornth traveling brehs), Costa Rica/Panama or East Africa (Kenya/Rwanda) were on the bucket list. But my crew is starting to get , and I don't think as a crew we have it in us to "travel" anymore; rather than to "vacate" lol.

It was fun while it lasted.

Id take a look at Medellin Colombia then if I was y'all. Just 4hr flight from ATL . Climb up the guatape rock. Do some paragliding. Pablo Escobar tour. Has a lot of things that match what you're looking for. Most people nice as hell

Did venture into the town one day. shyt was bedlam. Little kids panhandling, running beside the cab knocking on the window.

What opened my eyes was, we met an African family who went off grid and started exploring. Eventually they came across men with machine guns who stopped them from going on a beach.

Then I realized. The resort I was in was probably patrolled by the same type security cause the residents of the island are destitute.

Overall, be careful if you're looking for hookers or wanting to hang out in the real neighborhoods.

The only thing i can say is a word of caution be very careful and ensure to use extensive research if possible call the local embassy or authorities there seeking information, your safety should be the top priority

Depends of what you are looking for, like someone here said you can keep it simple and go to a resort in Punta Cana or Samana, Punta Cana specially has plenty of themed resorts, like the Hard Rock, Sports Illustrated, Nickelodeon etc, the resorts offer traditional resort buffet food, American style snacks and they usually have pretty good restaurants inside too that are not included but pretty cheap for americans, they also have bars/clubs inside and the staff can help you with excursions and shyt, the hotels are usually associate with local companies.

Island Saona trips are pretty cool but bring your own drinks, the tours usually buy homemade alcohol and its not pretty good or safe but you can bring your own drinks without issues:

Sex toursim can't help you much there, prostitution is illegal here for whatever reason so you would be dealing with sketchy people, brothels keep changing addresses and shyt, the most popular destination is Sosua but honestly for sex tourism I would recommend a place where is regulated like Colombia but there are plenty of local and venezuelan workers here so I'm sure there are some subreddits that can help you.

You can also get a nice Air bnb in Santo Domingo, plenty of great restaurants, clubs and active nightlife 7 days a week, Ubers are pretty cheap for Americans so you don't have to deal with parking and shyt.

Also like always, something that only Americans seem to do but do not drink water straight from the faucet, you have to buy bottled water, Ice is safe, every place pretty much get it from a water company and a lot of high end places have their own water purification machines.

Would you recommend another place other than the DR instead?

More people need to understand this. Motherfukkers can’t grasp that you’re out of your element completely regardless of how tough you are in your day to day life. Plus you don’t got easy access or any chance for a get back if you get got.

Don’t even get me started on the men who are just regular people feeling tough when they go abroad because they let themselves ego trip while on a trip.

Resorts are not a bad look, rolling deep can only work for so long, those ho’s are talking and eventually someone is going to start plotting if your either too relaxed or just there to long spending to much to be ignored.

There is nothing wrong with going on vacations to be a regular tourist.
