I hear you lol.I wanted to say patois but my spellcheck wasn’t working lol
Jamaican Patois is its own thing from Jamaica.
Guyanese ppl speak what is called Creolese.
Jamaican Patois is simply the most popular one ppl know,
so it is often used as a reference for what other Creoles sound like.
Jamaican Patois, Guyanese Creolese, Gullah Gullah and Surinamese Sranantongo.
They all have a “sound” to them, because they’re related through the shared history of Central and West Africans being in contact with English through slavery in the Americas.
They’re part of what is called Atlantic English-based Creole languages, which is a distinct language family.
English-based creole languages - Wikipedia
That’s why they sound similar as you can hear below:
Creolese, Guyana
Jamaican Patois, Jamaica
Sranantongo, Suriname (Jamaican Patois came from this Creole)
Gullah, lowcountry
