It might be true, but guns are also glorified in Clint Eastwood movies...Johnny Cash songs...Military & Hunting shows, etc.

Why single out Hip Hop culture when the american obsession with guns far pre-dates the existence of Hip Hop?

So is it in Hollywood and other facets of American culture but they like bringing up hip hop because its an easy target. Truth to what he said but if we are going to assign blame let's spread it out equally. Not everyone listens to hip hop but idk too many people who don't watch movies or television

"some 70% of the players in the NFL are african-american. not all of them are influenced by that part of the culture, but some are".

Racism alert.

Note how he singles out hip hop culture when other cultures especially redneck culture glorifies guns too.

Rewind this a few decades and he'd be saying guns are glorified by black people.

Far be it from me to :cape: Costas because I think he's a sanctamonious fraud.. But I've heard him speak on this issue in much more specific terms and he's been critical of the NRA and middle America's role in the gun culture..To take this statement in a vacuum and suggest he is placing all of the blame on hip hop is inaccurate...

At the end of the day he stated the obvious....

I'm with you and no ones saying he isn't but when this debate or topic comes up, hip hop is the usual suspect. You don't hear them bringing up rock, goth or any "white" popular music. Hip hops reach is waaaay smaller than the silver screens but they always try to place the blame on music & video games
