Yea I vaguely remember you making the post about that computer am pretty sure I said it's dead, the beeping is gonna get louder and it will start to shutdown by itself think I also said it was a overheating issue which fried one of the boards

Basically if the computer is 3-4 years older I would tell him to just replace it. If it's sub two years and he really cares about it he can take it to a computer shop but tell him to bring the lube :takedat:
but i'm saying that the beeping stopped. The issue now is there's no restore points except for when he placed the battery back into the computer and he doesn't have a vista disk to continue with any kind of updates he had going. I was gonna message back and just say try taking the battery out again

Hmm so his issue now is not having any restore points? There isn't much he can do, that happens because probably prior to the battery pull the computer had no restore points and made only that one.

And I don't get what you mean by him needing a Vista disk to update

Update or completely uninstall your java brehs :damn:

And if you update it, completely uninstall it first because just downloading it leaves the old version installed for intrusions

This is the second damn laptop to come across me that's plagued with viruses and there's like 5 different versions of java installed

Also, some things I keep on my thumb drives to add to this thread:
ADWCleaner (life saver)
FRST (experts only)
Rouge Killer

Great thread btw

..........fukking hate windows... But then again, if it wasn't for them, I'd probably be out of a job, lol (not really)

Is it better than Ccleaner?

CCleaner is more for tuning your computer up

ADWCleaner is more for malware & spyware, it does a bit of tune up with the registry also

I thought ADW was just only a Adware cleaner

It is for the most part, but I can't compare it to ccleaner because they do two different things

I only said a bit with adw because it gets rid of registery associated with malware/spyware also, whereas ccleaner cleans registry, that's the only aspect where the may be a bit similar

Ccleaner = cleaning and tweaking windows

ADWCleaner = malware & spyware cleaner (which some virus scanners can miss sometimes)

I actually use both of them when I'm repairing someone computer, but I use ccleaner last after I have the viruses, trojans, and malware quarantined and/or deleted
