And how much would a rig to do this cost? :ld:
Hmm I built my PC for $750(prices vary since this was in 2013) All i've upgraded was the GPU which is now a GTX 980. Most of the new games at 4K struggle to have 60fps even 30 fps. In this article they used 980 SLI's. I'll have to wait to see if I can get 4k/60 maybe Rockstar made a very good port to pull it off I mean the original engine was still from the PS3/X360 so they had a lot of time.

The rig they talking about in the article is overkill...like copping a Lamborghini for the sole purpose of driving to work...

I haven't tested the game yet but if its as well optimized as everyone's claiming a $1200 rig should run this game in 1080p, max settings 40-60 fps...

this is what I wanna know.

my computer:
i7-3770k ($300 when I bought it, way better out now)
970 GTX EVGA FTW edition ($380)
16 GB ram (can find for around $120)

ill probably run this at 60+ FPS with ease..

lets not act like this game doesnt run like shyt on consoles :aicmon: huge FPS drops when its 6-8 people on screen in the city

What about 4k/60fps though? That's what I want to know as far as costs. :lupe:

If you actually want to play the whole game in 4k I wouldn't count on it. At this point I don't think any card can handle steady 4k 60fps for these new generation games since the graphics are pretty demanding.

Titan X is the first card to handle some games at 4k 60fps, battlefield 4 for example, but yeah you pretty much need two Titan X's to play 4k at 60fps for most of today's games. So you're looking at 2000 in video cards right off the bat then another 1000 for the rest.

If u need a $2500 computer plus a 4k capable monitor, it's not even worth it just for one game. I know cats with 4k TVs are starved for content, but :comeon:
I agree but every new PC game can be played above 4k, not just GTA. So it's worth it to some people, but definitely a niche market at this point.
