It will be cracked within 3 days
Right idgaf about how expensive shyt was in the 90s, or $/hr, especially in this economy. Imma pay the price I deem worthy

All these games have sacrificed fun, detail, and side content. Visual and performance upgrades, and multiplayer is just an offset.

Friends and mods carry a lot of these games now. Try and do a second playthrough of these single player games now. Feels like volunteer work :scusthov:

Best believe that price wouldnt stay long if no one bought it. I wont pay shyt over $80 for a game. This why shyt so high everywhere because yall just say yes to every price increase for every product out and say "well ,its the economy" :stopitslime:

He warning us, GTA 6 will be expensive. They want to rape our pockets with GTA 6 prices.

I buy video games to save money from going out a lot, which costs too much money

Hes not wrong in the case of a game like GTA because of its popularity.

But, I find that argument doesn’t hold for that many games and it’s a hard metric to figure out, that’s why games will micro transaction you to death

Majority of games I won’t even drop $70 for. I still ain’t cop Spider-Man 2, waiting till I can get it for $40 or less :unimpressed:
I’ll cop GTA 6 first day if it’s $70 tho, anything more than that and I’m waiting till it’s $50 :unimpressed:
That's why I told my brother to get the disc verison of the ps5, just wait a couple of months and get the game on ebay 20 bucks cheaper :yeshrug:

Publishers are also making it easier than ever by releasing incomplete games.

they definitely are…the way I look at it is I’d willingly pay upwards to $20 to see certain movies in theaters…a movie is roughly like 2 hours…$10/hr…considering how long video games can keep me entertained, $70 is still a fairly reasonable price even tho I grumbled about the initial price hike and you can always play/replay the game at your leisure…even tho I would prefer not to have another industry-wide price hike on games, I’d be willing to pay as much as $100 for a game especially now that I don’t even buy games as much with PS+ and game pass available…if it does happen tho the best way for folks to fight it is to not spend their money but we know many still will :yeshrug:

I’m starting to see the per hour mental exercise more often, and honestly I get it. GTA V is probably the most lucrative product in the modern history of entertainment, if you think about what you got out of $70, especially for a console gamer. It’d either be that, Fortnite or Minecraft, but I’d contend that the GTA-ness of GTA puts it over the latter two.

The problem is that there’s no dollar amount that you could ever put on GTA 6 as a product that would capture the “full amount” of profit Rockstar could get. At some point, you accept a diminished amount somewhere, so you thrive elsewhere. For 5, they give you a $70 game, 0 single player content, and make things so expensive in Online that you subsist on the micro economy. Idk why they couldn’t do the same thing with 6 even if it costs substantially more to make, but we’ll see.

It is THE SINGLE most profitable piece of content ever made. Thing is so much of it's value currently and for the past few years have been the work of modders and RP servers. Most streamers (which is how Gen Z and Alpha interacted with the game) are still playing the game that way. Which was not the original intent of the developers. So when we talk about "value" it's sometimes hard to quantify where the original idea for the game begins and ends. So how do you monetize that?

For example, most TV's are flat surfaces. So theoretically they could be used as tables. So should LG tack on an extra $28 because you COULD use it as a table? Samsung did it with the Frame TV's because they realized having a giant black rectangle on your wall was ugly as shyt. So might as well charge a premium to improve your aesthetics.

But in terms of games in general. I think they ARE underpriced for value. Especially bigger AAA games. Playing a game like FF7 Remake or Fallout 4 was worth WAY MORE than $60. Hell Assassins Creed Odyssey was worth more than $60 for the amount of game you got. There's no way FIFA 23, Splatoon and FarCry 6 should all cost the same amount of money.
