What about Shaq? Did the NBA still draft as much on potential as they do now?
so why is there all of a sudden such a backlash against "one and dones"? Aren't there other examples of NBA stars staying multiple years in college tho?shaq only went to lsu because he knew the coach when he was 13

Kids are committing to schools because they can't jump straight to the league, not cause they truly want to go to college....and coaches like Calipari are effectively signing mercenaries to one year contracts.so why is there all of a sudden such a backlash against "one and dones"? B) don't need the money - guys like joakim noah, grant hill
exactly. And don't give me that bullshyt about 'free education" when you got that bullshyt like the UNC Afro American studies scandal. All these schools just wanna keep these nikkaz eligible to keep that sports dough rollin in. They don't give a fukk about education.
i think the problem is, they aren't really that goodso why is there all of a sudden such a backlash against "one and dones"? Aren't there other examples of NBA stars staying multiple years in college tho?
but at the same time if these kids can be drafted by an NBA team why not? Why would they play another year and risk injury or draft stock dropping? You say they aren't ready, was Anthony Davis not ready? John Wall? Cousins?i think the problem is, they aren't really that good
most of these one and dones would NOT have been drafted right out of high school... but they are so overhyped, that they get told, you SHOULD have been drafted out of high school.
so they go to a school for one year, don't care about learning shyt, and just want to shine to improve their draft stock... why learn a system or learn from a coach or plan on being there 4 years and help recruite.. when you can just avg 25 a game and be on sportscenter all week and go top 10
the problem is not the NBA game... the problem is college now sucks... instead of watching rivalries over 4 years, or players you like staying for 4 years, or players learning and working on their craft for a few years...... you now have these one year "wonders" who never really do anything special... and poof.. they gone... on to the next 1 year player
that hurts the COLLEGE game cause they can't keep stars and can't BUILD good teams that'll last for years... that and now everyone out for self and highlights...
you're arguing their point... i'm arguing bobby knightsbut at the same time if these kids can be drafted by an NBA team why not? Why would they play another year and risk injury or draft stock dropping? You say they aren't ready, was Anthony Davis not ready? John Wall? Cousins?
if this was steeped in race, why are the players all for this? This is one of the few things that weak union fights for and gets. This all about not wanting to see black men gain wealth.
That's all this about.
U don't see them crying about white kids turning pro at 14 to play tennis/golf, etc.,
Racist agenda hiding behind "W-w-well tha game is suffering."
Yeah right.
If that was tha case, why is Lebron (who went str8 outta highschool) and Kevin Durant (who was a one and done) tha top players in tha game right now?
cause it's not effecting college golfThis all about not wanting to see black men gain wealth.
