Out of all of them, Chadwick had the best chance to reach Denzel status. He had similar screen presence and natural gravitas. He acted everyone in Ma Rainey out of the fukking room and that included powerhouses like Viola Davis and Colman Domingo.

Will Smith has the talent but almost always chooses roles that rely on his charisma. He doesn’t really push himself as an actor but the few times he has (Six Degrees of Separation, Ali, the first half of I Am Legend) he’s shown glimpses of greatness.

I think Daniel Kaaluya gets forgotten in these conversations. That brotha can act his ass off.
