Thank God, someone must've smartened him up finally.



When Hal was asked about the possibility of getting rid of the rule years ago, he said he never put much thought into it because nobody complained. I don't think he realized that nobody who was against that rule was going to complain. They just weren't going to sign with them. It's been proven through player surveys that the Yankees grooming policy has prevented them from signing players.

Damon coined the gloss “the idiots” if I remember right . I think it comes from Steinbrenner having went to a military academy and wanting to project what he felt was an image of discipline and professionalism.
