Looking at MEM's remaining 7 games... they're almost certainly plummeting into the play-ins and will likely lose the first of 2 elimination games (vs whichever of GSW, LAC, MIN doesn't get the 5th and 6th seeds). Tough collapse after being #2 for a good chunk of the season.

Only real question is would they beat SAC or DAL for the 8th seed.

This Finnish dude is the guy they've wanted as the coach all along but they put him in a terrible spot. His first three games were the Lakers, Celtics and Dubs.

Even if they hang on and make the playoffs, they're not going anywhere. Why not let Jenkins ride it out as a lame duck coach, which they'd been doing all season anyway, and let Iisalo get a clean slate in the fall?

Front office probably thinks the new coach is super man and can turn the team around and salvage the 4 seed. Whole front office is delusional.

This is malpractice. If you didnt like the guy or thought the new guy was better then you make that move before the season or much much earlier in the year. You dont let basically the entire season play out and then make such a change with less than 10 games left when you are in the running for the 2 seed.

Delusional, they think the Grizz are gonna catch fire and make the WCF or something absurd

Even though both players are completely different, Memphis sticking with Morant as their centerpiece is the same as Atlanta sticking with Trae...what will you ever really accomplish?

That's just focusing on Morant on the court...the maturity, professionalism and leadership ability shown off the floor by a young guy like Cade Cunningham should tell how vital it is for your superstar to have character and approach the game with respect.

Ja's probably next if he's not fukking with that offensive scheme. I don't know where you'd send him.

I think Ja for Trae makes sense. Grizzlies have basically all the parts to cover Trae defensively, I have a hard time seeing Atlanta getting back to the ECF anytime soonish with a Trae led team.

So basically what I’m gathering is Jenkins implemented a more passing, perimeter oriented offense because Morant is hardly available. Morant, a flawed athletic guard who hasn’t evolved his game and cannot operate at all without the ball in his hands, got upset. Why are the grizzlies even listening to Morant and not trying to sell high on his overrated ass?

This couldn’t have happened to a better franchise though. “I’m fine in the west” These guys were feeling themselves way too much without accomplishing shyt over the past couple of seasons. Complete opposite of the Randolph and Tony Allen days. All these guys (JJJ, Morant, No neck Bane) are obnoxious dikkheads. And this org clearly enabled Morant’s off court bullshyt and did nothing about it. You could tell teams took special delight in humbling these nikkas. Also didn’t like how they basically hung Brooks out to dry after they got smoked by the lakers. Truly bytch move by the org
