Not next year but the rest of this season is basically his audition. Rest of the season they're probably telling him "you run it" and we see where it goes. Next season Wemby and their draft pick plays with Pop back and everyone starts talking about how it was Paul's team after Pop went out and how he brought them together when they needed it most...again the story writing itself
I was hoping he would retire because the game has passed him up. But not like this, get well coach, one of the greatest coaches ever and always spoke up for black folk
Wish him all the best. Greatest X's & O's coach in NBA history, imo. He should retire. Top 3-5 all time. He's done all he can and when your body tells you that it's time, you eventually have to listen to it.
Pop is already 76 years old and multiple time champion. He broke the previous record for oldest NBA coach a long time ago. That used to be Hubie Brown at 71. There is nothing else to prove.
