76 and recovering from a stroke. Just fall back and work in another capacity for the Spurs. He has absolutely nothing to prove.

I’ve only known Pop as the HC for as long as I’ve been watching SA. 3 decades now.

Brehs had said his last few years that the game had prolly passed him by and it might be for the best for him to hand over the reins, and while I didn’t necessarily disagree, he was supposed to go out on his own terms. Losing his wife, leaning on bball as a distraction, then a stroke. That wasn’t the way.

This’s that shyt that hurts the heart.

Please retire. You got nothing to prove. For who? For what? You are an all timer. You got millions. Focus on your health and your family.

Didn't he already lose his wife???

Pretty sure his kids all grown

People be too desperate to hang on. Let someone else have a chance and go enjoy the rest of your life with your family. Politicians do this shyt too.

Get well Pop. Nothing against his coaching credentials but I've never been a fan of his personally. Didn't care for the constant sarcasm and holier than thou perspective. Not to mention him setting off the "load management" era. His outspoken support on issues affecting Black folks off-set that for me though. On a different note, I wonder how De'Aron Fox is feeling with the latest team developments.

I was hoping he would retire because the game has passed him up. But not like this, get well coach, one of the greatest coaches ever and always spoke up for black folk

yeah I don't know the exact quotes but I also remember Pop saying multiple things defending Black people

that's why I don't buy the excuse that some white people use that their grandparents are "old" as an excuse for being racist. Pop is an old white man, so he would roast the sh1t out of them like he always does to idiots

being racist is a CHOICE plain and simple

glad it was confirmed he wasn't on that type of time, and honestly he could've just focused on basketball instead of saying anything

heard he's making a decent recovery though, yet not quickly

Wemby goes down and now the HC :francis:

Tough times in San Antonio
This post makes zero sense.

Pop was out before Wemby. It’s always hard times for that shytty franchise

League needs to force him to retire. Can’t have him having any complications while a game is in play
