Also, adding more to insurance being one of the biggest scams: I was listening to a news radio show where the host said insurance companies do what they can to give you the minimalist payout. That’s even if your claim is accepted. Completely fukked up.
Facts, facts, facts! Dealing with insurance is such a frustrating process

Thought I’d never see a natural disaster that’s more costly than Katrina. But here we are.

This is completely fukked up.

For me the city ain’t been the same since we lost Kobe & Erm (Nip)

This fire is like a restart to a grim LA. I fear it’s going to become a corporate shell and I can bet in the next 10 15 or 20 years there will be movies made about all this shyt uncovering the dark truth about what really is going on. But all of these major cities I feel like we’re going to go through some kind of reconstruction.

Don't know if it was already mentioned elsewhere in the thread, but it's interesting how this situation was seemingly prophesied in a book Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler; she, herself, was from Pasadena. She wrote the book in 1993 and has been dead since 2006. Take a listen until around 4:30.

Here is a video of one of Ms. Butler's final in-person interviews before she would die a few months later. I know that TLR likes a lot of TLDR, but the 15:39 timespan really is worth a listen. That someone could have such foresight, awareness and understanding of how things that were happening at the end of the 1990s would lead up to this now never ceases to amaze me.
