Yeah I saw a page that had every WWE PPV's buyrates ever (Pre-network of course) and I was surprised how much they dont always crack a million.

I always assumed the 80s hulkamania wave cracked a lot of numbers, same with attitude. Interesting Rock vs Hogan didnt do big numbers. Someone here made the point about PPVs not being PPVs internationally until like later on and that's true. In the UK we used to get all the PPVs for free to watch initally, even as recent as 2004 Wrestlemania could be watched on regular Sky Sports. So I guess the later years where the numbers are like 800k-1 mil are not necessairly an indication that previous years were not less watched.

The digital cable thing really hurt WM19 buyrate totals which is funny because it arguably the best WrestleMania of all time.

also @StatUS, good point, i do remember them WWE making that permanent switch to Digital Cable for ordering ppvs and my family werent gonna make the switch just for little ol me paying more for Comcast
