I’m not saying “Fukk the fan base” at all. But every promotion has heels. Every promotion has guys that fans hate. And the GREAT thing about Enzo and Cass is that the fans hate them, hate their style, and would pay to watch storylines where they get their ass kicked by their fan darlings... OR they’d boo the shyt out of them when they beat the fan favorites; all of which you need in wrestling, especially if you want your promotion to grow. Otherwise, ROH will be the same fan favorites flipping around or grappling for 40 minutes in front of the same people chanting “you deserve it” during every match. Adding Enzo and Cass doesn’t mean your promotion is trying to “be WWE” it means you’ve added two dudes to your roster that people recognize. How you book it from there is on you :manny:

And it doesnt hurt that they have the WWE stink on them so that more people watch your promotion.

To be 100% honest, I as a casual fan outside of WWE could not tell you the last time I watched ROH. But if I saw a thread on here with Enzo and Cass in an ROH match, I’d watch it to see how they did. That’s how your broaden your fan base :yeshrug:

I couldn’t tell you the last time you and I (or rather me and anyone) discussed anything ROH, but here we are. And it’s not because of their style. It’s because they did something different (for them) with two guys that have name recognition to AND outside of their hardcore audience.

They aren’t stars at all without Vince McMahon television. Your point would stand if they still appeared on Raw every Monday. You can actually see the ‘please hire me’ desperation in Cass eyes in that video he posted. If this was 20 years ago, Paul Heyman would bring them in, and they’d get squashed by the Eliminators, Joey Styles talking shyt about them the entire match. ECW fans would be going wild the entire time. Difference today is, ROH can’t build heroes even a fraction of the way ECW did, and fans will purposely not spend money on you if there’s an act that they hate on it, rather than spend money to see your hero triumph. That’s the evolution of the business.

I admittedly havent watched RoH consistently in about a year or so, so I just assumed it was chugging along fine as that number 2 promotion in America with indie darlings and still having solid matches and even when the Elite left I figured there was still enough good talent there it was doing fine plus they had the NJPW deal and helped with All In etc

So to come to find out people hate and say its worst than TNA when it was coming apart and all this other stuff has me:picard:

It aint the absolute worst that some people here claim it to be, from a wrestling standpoint its still good. The crockett cup tournament is off to a good start if they keep putting out matches like jeff cobb and willie mack vs the Briscoes (that was such a dope ass match)

Do you think part of the backlash to it is people kinda hoping New Japan breaks off the agreement and joins AEW and figure if they speak a lot about it in the IWC and pro wrestling sheet world it will speak into existence?

Honestly ROH has made some really dumb fukkin decisions as of late. But they've been around for 17 years they'll be just fine.

Yeah they'll exist I mean even Impact/Ghost of TNA exists

But they were always able to exist as the breaking ground for a lot of indie guys so I wonder if thats how it will still be precieved with this current regime

Preach. The new LAX are fukking amazing, Fallah Bahh is babyface status, they have Killer Kross lurking the main event scene.

Kiera Hogan getting into the Rosemary and Allie plot, Moose fukking with The Rascalz, Penta and Fenix cutting promos like modern day digital gods :whoo:

Last night's episode was solid as fukk. I watch on twitch, Melissa Santos talks it up on commercial breaks, her and Callis chatted after the episode...

Yup. Just posted in the impact thread. This is one of my favorite eras for TNA/Impact .

I agree, Fallah bahh is awesome .The rascalz are doing some crazy shyt and Kross is money. 90% of the show is great. They are absolutely killing it right now
