i got a daughter and paying $225/week in daycare:mjcry: so my $$$ aint where it COULD be if i didnt have a kid.

I :mjcry: everytime i think about how much dough i could have right now if i didnt have a kid. Thats why i talk to these young black dudes every chance i get. Get this $$$ while you single and no kids and stack that paper. Sacrifice 2 years for your future.

If you aint got no kids or big payments you can have a good chunk of change after 1 year.

I moved out my apt when i went to CDL school. My car was paid off also. All the expenses i have is daycare, food, phone bill and car insurance.

You get paid by the mile so dont expect to make that much your 1st year with your 1st company. After you get 1 year experience you can go to another company that requires experience and make more per mile. Thats what i did. Your 1st year should be all about experience, getting comfortable with the truck and STAYING ACCIDENT FREE. There;s different endorsements also (hazmat, doubles/triples, tanker, etc) that you can obtain for more $$$ also
Yup im 21 no kids. Ima try to do OTR and save atleast a stacc a month

For you OTR guys, which region do you prefer to drive in the most?

Which region do you hate the most?

Im at 1.5 years in OTR. i would recommend it to anybody young wit no kid and single. Live out ya truck and watch the $$$ pile up. The freedom is what i love the most. I start and end my days pretty much when i want to. No bosses looking over my shoulders and best of all NO COWORKERS. No gossip and drama. Nobody all up in my business or having to depend on anybody else. Also, there's no dress codes, for most companies. I wear what i want and i can do what i want with my hair. Hell, if i want to get a shytload of tattoos i could. COMPLETE FREEDOM:blessed:

Do you actually go home on your reset?

Used to do over the road, local now

Don't really have a worst location, but NYC and Chicago are hands down the worst places to drive a tractor trailer :scust:

Best location hands down is the SouthWest. Trust me breh, it's the best. Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, West Texas, Southern California

They all have a very simplistic grid system as far as street design and directions. Plus the road lines in the neighborhoods and avenues are wide as fukk, fits great for the big trucks. Highways are also simple. With the exception of Los Angeles, South West is a dream to drive in. Wish I can go back there :mjcry:

Is it true you gotta be mad assertive and aggressive, dealing with the people(cacs) in the trucking industry?

I wouldn't say aggressive, but you gotta be assertive. Know your market value when applying for a job. A trucking job should not be the same pay as a warehouse job, or retail job, it is always more
When learning to drive a truck, don't act timid. The teachers in your CDL school or people on the road would take advantage of you

But at the same time, patience is a virtue. You are the biggest thing on the road, and you can't make hasty quick moves like you were in the car. If you follow signs, the job would easy as fukk

If you're saying that companies might give the worst routes to the black guys, then yeah that is deff true

I'm thinking of buying a truck GPS, it's about $250 but it's real useful

Some dispatchers be racist as fukk :mjpls:

Yea that'll probably be one of the first things I buy. I plan on doing 4 weeks out, so might as well make my trucc as convenient and job as easy as possible :manny:

Just passed my test Saturday, I'm hype

Studied for a month for this shyt

I sacrificed so much. Went to a different state to go to school for it. Even stopped watching my precious basketball so I could study more :mjcry:
That backing test was a bytch though :whew:

Road test was just me not being nervous

All the job opportunities I can have with this shyt. Over the road, Local, Dump Truck, Oil Fields, etc.

Dap and rep me brehs :blessed:
When you say you studied for a month, was this for everything total, or just for the written test you take for the CDL permit?
