It can only determine what country you come from. You would have to go into that country because some Africans can look at your features and tell you what tribe you come from. I've heard this a few times . Earlier this year I was talking to a man from the Congo and he said it was true . He also said even if you're bi racial they can still tell your tribe. So I was stoked . Trying to get money and go to Africa to see what tribe and get my tribal tats

It doesn't TRULY determine what country you're from. It determines the ethnicity of the dna one carries. If that country just so happens to have a large group of that ethnicity then its a strong guess that an ancestor most likely came from that country. Many African countries have lots of ethnic groups in common, and I think the dna testers make the mistake of telling people what country they are from when in actuality they may be related to that group genetically but that group may be present in 5 different countries, so they connect you to the larger groups I suppose.

If your dad was born and raised in Seattle with maybe his family and another uncles family, then migrates to Alaska, BUT most of the family with your last name and/or dna is located in Florida you're still related to the group in Florida when your dad may have only known Seattle Washington and somehow migrated to Alaska.

I did the DNA test, and I was impressed with how detailed everything was. But what did you think about the services for finding more on your family history? Was it easy to use? Was it quick? Was it accurate?Do you think it's worth the cost of membership even after the free trial?

this post actually inspired me to hop on there and start messing around. I messaged some of my uncles and aunts on FB and got some more info from them to help me out. I was actually able to find a pair of great great grandparents born in the 1890s. that's over a hundred years ago. so yeah, it's pretty cool. I got to see birth certificates and everything.

and on details my relatives were funny on sometimes the records on ancestry.com were able to fill in some blanks.

it's actually pretty addictive.

black folks had some funny ass names back then. lol
I have a great grandfather who went by Napoleon and his wife's name was Exie.

My father's grandfather (my great grand daddy) born in the late 1800s was named "Moses" :mjlol:.....there's nothin wrong with it...it's a biblical name, but,..:mjlol:...you just never hear those names anymore.

I need to get some research in though...I know almost nothing about him except allegedly he beat some white man nearly to death and fled north

Valid paranoia on your part. As a black person your genetics are of the highest value and 'them people' will do anything to get their hands on it. Abortions, organs from your dead body, sperm and blood banks/tests, etc. They're keeping all that shyt

If i could have done it without them using it for their own agendas (which seems to be their dwindling survival) i would have

If its all a scam, then why is it when they test Africans the results show 100% African, test mulattoes results show around 40% African and around 60% European. Even when they run a test on a triracial person, for example a person with an Asian grandparent, an African grandparent and a white parent the results will show around 25% Asian, 25% African and 50% European. The results are too accurate for it all to be a scam.

the scam is being specific about tribes, but basically we are west african, the test can tell you very accurately what your percentages of european, native american and african you are

now this whole thing about telling you what specific tribe you are from thats just fishy, scam might be too strong of a word, eventually as more africans get tested it will be possible to get specific, but at this point in time telling you what tribe you are from is just a best guess

Got both my parents ancestral DNA test kits for xmas. Can't wait to find out the results. After that Oprah show, I'm pretty sure the American Indian rumors in my family are bunk.
