The Miami Dolphins could be aggressive in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft in an attempt to get two top-five picks.
According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins are trying to trade up to the No. 3 spot—currently controlled by the Detroit Lions—without giving up its No. 5 pick.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Miami wants to move up to take an offensive tackle.
The Dolphins currently hold 14 draft picks, including the Nos. 5, 18 and 26 selections in Thursday's first round.
Adding the No. 3 pick would likely be expensive, with Darin Gantt of ProFootballTalk noting a trade would likely feature at least the 18th and 26th overall picks as well as possibly the 39th overall pick.
The Lions have a lot of holes to fill after a 3-12-1 season and could use the additional picks to reload the roster.
Meanwhile, securing the third pick would give the Dolphins the opportunity to select their top offensive tackle, likely one of Georgia's Andrew Thomas, Iowa's Tristan Wirfs, Alabama's Jedrick Wills Jr. and Louisville's Mekhi Becton.
Per Jackson, Miami especially likes Wirfs and Thomas, as well as Georgia tackle Isaiah Wilson.
With the fifth pick, the Dolphins could then take their quarterback of the future, whether that is Alabama's Tua Tagovailoa or Oregon's Justin Herbert, giving the team two franchise cornerstones in one draft.
Assuming Joe Burrow and Chase Young go off the board with the first two picks as expected, the Dolphins could have a lot of options as they try to rebuild the team.
I'd absolutely love to bring Cam in. I'd love it. I don't see why not. If the dolphins wanna do the whole "Veteran QB-trains young QB to take his job"-thing, why not go with a proven former MVP vet like Cam, instead of Fitzpatrick? What can Rosen, or Tua learn from Fitz that they couldn't learn from Cam?Dolphin brehs if cam newton is healthy is it really a big issue to bring him in? I know you have fitzmagic but with the Moves you’ve made in free agency couldn’t you bring in cam for a season? Or is this the year you draft the QB at 5/trade up for Tua?
also did Rosen show anything and just had inferior talent on the line and couldn’t produce like a vet like fitz or is he really just bad?
Its one of those weird situations with Miami. We took Rosen from AZ, but even with his youth, we've decided he isn't the QB of the future for Miami. He's just a young guy living in Miami at this point. If Tua is busted up and Herbert is a hit or miss why not just try another season with Rose, He's still younger than Burrow.
I'd take Jameis as well. As crazy as that sounds.i really think a competition on a 1 year deal he could come in and beat out Fitzmagic...But I also think the same thing about cam and neither one of them are high on anyone’s list.
nikka hell nahI'd take Jameis as well. As crazy as that sounds.

We've already answered that question many times in this threadIf Tua is busted up and Herbert is a hit or miss why not just try another season with Rose, He's still younger than Burrow.
