I just don’t get this whole JRich vs Winslow thing everyone is fighting about. JRich is struggling right now hell yea but as a whole the whole team is struggling so I just don’t get how game after game lately all I see is Richardson vs Winslow.
JRich was barely recruited out of high school and made himself into an nba player dude was drafted in the second round and a lot team had him pencil as a second round pick but Pat & company saw potential in him. Hell look at the second rounds picks in his draft class. He only what 9 of the 29 drafted still in the league and he is the only one that is a constant rotation player.
If anything dude is an overachiever dudes trying to compare him to Winslow who was a star high school and college player. We all no Winslow is the more talented player and you can’t even compare Tennessee to Duke. One of the goat coaches of all time vs a guy who has been under NCAA investigation and who teams underachieved.
JRich is better at being a combo guard when he can use his height to bother point guards and undersize two guards. When you play him at the small forward position the advantages he has playing combo guard is lost because he guarding dudes who are usually bigger and stronger then him.
Are team is build kinda funny. We don’t have a clear backup point guard and we are guard and power forward/center heavy
Winslow is are only real small forward.
Honest if this was a few years ago I think Winslow would be starting but because of the game being so cot damm three point oriented now and with that being a weaknness in his game that the reason.
Also we all talked about how deep this team is but with the team being heavy at certain spots it’s going to be tough to get everyone minutes and shots and that what Spo is going to have to figure out.
Guys go from playing to DNP to no fault of there own. A guy like olynyk who was a big offseason signing goes from playing 30 minutes one game to only 12 minutes then other game only 9 minutes.
The rotation at the moment are pretty wacky but it’s because it’s early but Spo needs to set a constant rotation soon so guys can get comfortable in there role.
