abortion in 2012 pathetic

With new technologies like ultrasound images allowing people to actually see the baby in the womb, support for abortion continues to decline. Not to mention that babies born prematurely are being kept alive at earlier and earlier stages.

I think support for abortion will continue to decline as people become better educated about what it involves.

Wow there is alot of ignorance in this thread. According to a Gallup Poll from this past May, 50% of Americans are pro-life and only 41% of Americans are pro-choice.

"Pro-Choice" Americans at Record-Low 41%

If half of the country is pro-life, how is it "extreme" and "radical" for the Republican party to have a pro-life platform?

Sometimes all I can do is shake my head at how stupid you left wingers are.......

Gallup polls like this one are pathetic, since they sampled a miniscule 1,000 people, but if we assume it's true, then only 20% of Americans agree with this Republican platform that abortion should be illegal, period. That means most of the people who identified as "leaning towards pro-life" in the survey are not actually anti-choice, since they do not believe that abortions should be illegal.

Right. I think pretty much everybody is "against abortion". It's just that people should have a choice to do what they want with their body and under certain circumstances abortion may be the best route.

Right. I mean it's not like pro choice people are :dj2:
about abortion. Proper education and easy access to contraceptives should be key to reducing unwanted pregnancies. But I cannot presume to speak for a pregnant woman. That is why I'm pro choice.

And QueenpinOG, the fact that you are a virgin knocking down 40s door, you especially should not presume to speak for a woman.

I don't know what sample size has to do with anything. Most polls usually show America equally divided between pro-life and pro choice camps. Don't blame the poll because you don't like the findings.

But anyway, the Republican party is being called extreme and radical for having a position that 20% of Americans support (making abortion illegal). Why isn't the Democrat party extreme and radical for having a position that just 25% of Americans support (abortion being legal in all cases).

Why are you against the abortion though? Are you acknowledging that it is inherently evil?

Lol...I don't know why Mr. OG doesn't just hire an escort. We need to pool our money together and send one to his house.

I wouldn't say evil, but in most circumstances it is morally wrong. I also think it's wrong for a person to bring an unwanted child into this world, and plenty of other wrong things are legal in this country. So I think people should be allowed to do what they want with their own body.

I could understand them adding abortion to the platform since that is one of their main issues but it really shouldn't be such a hard line stance that excludes abortion in the cases of rape and/or incest. Being so strident in their opposition just mkes the party look authoritarian and in the death grip of the religious fundamental wing of the party.
