So in light of comparison let me tell you about my experience voting for the 2021 Dutch elections.
Officially the elections are on Wednesday but because of Covid they have specific locations open for early voting today and tomorrow.
There are a total of 400 voting locations within the municipality of my city (Rotterdam) alone! Approximately 50 of them are open for early voting. Three of them were within 10 minutes walking distance from where I live.
I received my voting pass and instructions by mail like two weeks ago. In the instructions it's carefully explained which official ID you can bring along with your voting pass. Per instructions, your ID may be expired up to five years ago. So I could technically vote with my voting pass and a passport that expired in 2016.
After arriving at the nigh empty voting location, they took and scanned my voting pass and looked at my passport. Then I got my ballot and my pencil, went into the booth, filled my choice and dropped the ballot in the box. I then left.
This took me all but one minute.
Welcome to democracy.
