Google Search is trash now

Has anybody else been noticing the deterioration of google search?

all the articles in the first page paid their way to be on the first page
they all push a singular narrative
can't find any torrents
they are removing vasts amounts of info

Google has a history of trash decisions though. They had a great home page service about 10 years back (you could set it up with panels for news, etc). Basically, what Yahoo used to be good at, but they bushed it when they were trying to be Facebook

I used to use Google to find old threads on TheColi and reminisce. I feel like it used to be so much easier than using the search function on this site. And yes, it's harder to look up just general things now. A lot of times the first link is a Wikipedia page.

I cant find shyt I know is there, and get a repeat of the same bullshyt results even if I go 15 pages back. I used their advanced options to narrow down date etc and still trash.

Youtube is trash too, but ofcourse as it belongs to Google.
How do you locate deleted video?

I need a deep searching search engine. What's best to use 9ther than google etc

You’re not the only one thinking that.

I work for a a big tech company (not Google) and it’s all about monetization efficiency (industry speak for showing more ads).

The economy is making advertisers spend less on ads and to counter that revenue hit, the tech companies increase the percentage of ads on a platform. It’s unfortunate.

Also they use AI for everything and AI thinks it is showing you things you might like, as opposed to things you are directly searching for
