eh...I wouldnt count on these things replacing phones just yet...many people are on phones at work at school during lectures, in noisy environment, etc.

voice commands dont really work anywhere like that

thats cool. attach a reallly thin mic to it. that can be placed back up right next to the arms of the glasses. just like the mic can move up right next to the head cover portion of a normal headset with a mic.

you make the mike and arm thin/small enough. you would not be able to feel its weight or see it. so you would only need to use it in those loud environments like you've suggested.

i said this before when i saw the original demo a year ago.

they need to make it where if you want to join the google commuinty of uploaders you can. this means what? everything you see can be logged with google. and indexed. so the next time you see it, it registers.

you see the guy in the original demo walking around the city. the subway registered, but the dogs didnt.
when i look at those dogs. next time i want those glasses to tell me what type of dogs they are.

he had to tell it to remember the concert when he was looking at the giant concert poster. i want the glasses to recognize that photo as the artist. then give me his newest cd and latest concerts.

again everyone will not be down with this. but some people would. and thats all you need. enough people indexing random stuff like that. to a point where when the 3rd generation of the glasses hit stores. they will have so much normal everyday life stuff logged in there. you will feel like one of those futuristic movies where you can see things and it will tell you everything about it.

you the person are now the google car that drives around with the cameras and maps out things for google maps. you are doing it for the glasses index.

do you look at your phone while in class? yes, why? to check the time or a text message/calendar. you can do that with the glasses. all they have to do is give you a "display" button on the arms of the glasses. just like the unsleep button you have on your phone. one tap, and bam everything is up on your glasses that you put there(text messages, the time, weather, tasks, events,) your choice how you set up that page of course.

now again if you have to make a phone call in a crowded or loud place ANYWAY. a pulled down extra thin mic would be just like you putting your square phone to your ear and mouth. no difference.

the same rules apply if you're in the club.

and speaking of the club. imagine this.. you're outside getting a few chicks numbers. if you get enough of these numbers over the weekend or a few days time. you will forget which face goes with what name and number. imagine asking these chicks for their phone number. while you're recording their voice. the numbers are being entered into your glasses. then it takes a picture automatically(you have this set, in the settings). Bam every number you got, you have the face to go with it. now thats playa innovation right chea
