The truth is blacks will have to pull ourselves by the bootstraps. Cliché shyt nikkas don't want to hear, but we ain't got no choice. Ain't sitting around for Democrats to make change.
Chances are next to zero Google will be defeated but getting black people involve in projects like this increases talent.
We have to look at what the asians and indians do. They don't have to beat Google, they just show them the threat of not having them.
It is still a avlid point, because Black people will hear all of this and still use google 5 minutes later. We are not taken seriously because we fail to display seriousness at times like these..to the point they all know Black folks wont do shyt about anything bt complain then go back to using the offending product or service..
Some of yall are a little frustrating.
I come in here and read posts about politics and the apathy many of yall hold towards politics, unions, and having to be discplined through not getting what you want and deserve at times.
Then some of you want to act surprised when these Whites, Asians, and Indians/Middle Easterners aren't giving us a seat at their table.
You can't be like fukk them in one instance and then be surprised and upset by shyt like this. It doesn't work like that.
We have to start taking a more active role in politics, sending our kids to college to be attorneys, engineers, etc. Those are ways we can initiate change with these companies.
We also need to start teaching each other the importance of having multiple streams of income. You can never rely on one entity as your sole source of income especially if you dont own it. Nothing but fines and court orders are going to make these companies fall in line.
We don't teach each other things such as that like others do to their own on a larger scale.

In education.... yes but black incomes are at the highest they have ever been so I can't cosign this .
what group has bootstrap self pulling ever worked for on a mass scale? There are a couple of individual success stories but I have never heard of it working on a large scale.
no it's time to wake up man. a "diversity program" is really no different than affirmative action. just another program white people put into place and are now dismantling. same as with the diversity programs. no amount of crying and whining is going to force them to keep these programs in place, so at some point we're going to have to understand that our long-term economic survival will depend on the companies we start and the jobs we're able to create for ourselves. you can call that siding with white supremacy but that's really taking a lazy and coward's view of things.
if our people had fought as hard for real Black entrepreneurship as they did affirmative action back in the day we'd have less need for shyt like diversity programs today. you can't legislate white people into liking you or treating you fairly forever.

It worked for Blacks in Oklahoma with Black Wall Street. It's currently working for the DMV which have the highest payed blacks in the country. There's also ATL which is claimed as the black mecca. There's Germans and Jews but those are different scenarios.
Your thought process is wrong in looking for mass scale examples. Boostap pulling has never started off mass scale, it starts of small, those couple of individual success stories that you read about. Then it grows into mass scale.
Reparations are off the table the next 4 years, we don't have a choice but to go the bootstrap route.

Black people owned properties and were systematically denied being able to profit on them like white people were. Asians and Indians were not actively targeted for eradication by the most powerful government on the planet, and in America we compare the entirety of ados, to the most ambitious subsets of foreigners. Asians and Indians don't even really have a seat at the table in America, even though they make up 27% of tech workforce they are less than 14% of managers and ceos.
I agree about sending our kids to college to be attorneys, engineers etc.. but we also need to get the jackboot of amerikka off our necks.

You obviously don't even know what Google is and does if you are comparing some websites to them.
It would take a government backing to "compete" with google. Realistically an group of African nations getting together could challenge their infrastructure locally and dominate within their borders like Baidu in China which is propped up by the Chinese govt. I believe google is banned in china so they have no alternative there. But that's what it would take for a "black" google.

Give me a Google salary and I could give two sh1ts about racism at work. I know a chick that worked for Google, she stacked her bread, bought a crib in NC CASH and now works as an IT coordinator making half the money but she's happy.

Bootstraps means getting out of the hood, going to school, getting a good degree, high paying career and on top of starting a business. If you can make it out by playing sports or rapping, that's good too, any means necessary.
I agree with the mentality but we also need to push for programs that make the bootstrapping easier. less paperwork for college. baby bonds etc..
