And for folks thinking this product won't succeed because 3D glasses never took off are morons. The reason no one wants 3D glasses is cause they cheap and wack. This AR glasses are gonna be expensive and essential. They'll basically replace the smartphone completely. I fully expect it to be a big hit when it launches later this year.

the upgrade will be a contact lens that does all the computing.....maybe a brain-interface control.....rather than controlling thru voice you can control the computer by just thinking

for those who believe this is impossible or not close reality.....just realize that its already been done.....scientists have inserted computer chips into the brains of quadriplegic patients to allow them to control robotic arms and computer mouses just by thinking.....hopefully the control can be done non-invasively.....I don't know many people who would want computer chips surgically implanted in their heads to control their google glass simply by thinking

I wouldn't be surprised if by 2020 everyone had some AR glasses/contact lenses like Google Glass that is controlled simply by thought.

I agree that $1500 is a lot but a thing like Glass could be 10 times more useful than a tablet which goes for $500-600.

I'm more concerned about the internet connection/tethering and battery life.

i dont know, i read the article and the only thing that seems really all that functional is the camera/video camera aspect, everything else just seems more complimentary rather than essential. i dont see how it could be more useful then a tablet which you can actually work on. more than anything it seems like a face mounted video camera with some internet capabilities.
