Good opinion piece on why the WWE should shutdown it's PC.

When you're dinging WWE for only producing 9 main card guys it seems kind of disigineous to make it PC vs the world.

Wrestlers in general aren't as entertaining as they used to be but that's not because the PC exists.

:francis: If we keeping it a buck, the real performance centers are the indies which tends to be poked and picked apart.

The Performance Center is basically the wrestling equivalent of the "lab". Cooking up albums and praying they actually get released. Until then, you have to listen to leaks and mixtapes (NXT).
Best analogy ever

I would have agreed with this a couple of years ago, but now I dont know

But Bron, Melo, Bianca, Trick, Oba are emerging and they seem to be doing well. I know think its more secure than say the indies where people can crash out/injury themselves (AEW has the real nostalgia problem because whats gonna happen when Mox/Bryan/Omega/Joe go and they gotta rely on the 4 pillars or people from the indies like GCW? I guess the only hope is the New Japan dojo and taking talent from them years down the line)

Why do people always say it's gonna be a problem in 10-15 years when nobody from the Attitude or Ruthless Aggression era is still around... they forget this shyt is a never-ending cycle. There'll be fans who weren't even born in the Attitude or Ruthless Aggression Era, whose favorite "back in the day" wrestlers will be the ones from these last 10 years. They'll be adult paying customers by then, somebody we don't know right now will be top stars, and guys like Roman and Cody will be their greats- that's how it's worked for as long as we've been watching it.

That too.
Rollins, Reigns.Ambrose, Bryan, Cody will be the part timers they use

Though I cant front that part time list is getting smaller and smaller but they'll be others. Mostly from the women's side though

If you don't have a PC you end up with Indy goofs that are one failed bump away from paralyzing themselves every single night.

Without a PC center where fundamentals and safety is learned, you end up with AEW.
The point of thr piece is that you had that at the fraction of the cost and it created top guys.

The PC created one one tine WWE champ.

There's room to clean up Indy talent.

Hell ppl go to Tyson/Nat over the PC for a workout and reps.

This thinkpiece is irrelevant because of Vince.

This company has a whole new ownership, and vertical integration is the way every big billion dollar company is looking going forward.

This current model - signing kids to NIL deals out of college then training them, is going to work because there's no one that doesn't want it to.

They have their stats of the future locked into long term deals for little money.

No one would even think to have this discussion if Velveteen Dream, Enzo and Cass were still here. If Jason Jordan didn't have to retire. If Lars Sullivan didn't turn out to be a racist sexist homophobic gay porn star internet troll with performance anxiety.

At least AOP are back and still only 29 and 30.

Check back on NXT in 4 years. HBK has only been in his role since 2021? NIL has only been a thing since 2022.

Bron, Oba Femi, Trick Williams, Tony D'angelo. They're gonna be fine. They're also likely hiding guys until they get to CW.

The recent problem was Hunter trying to mass produce wrestlers whose gimmicks were only going to work in front of indy level crowds. They've now started to train wrestlers to be potential superstars that can get over on the main roster. Also trying to discount FCW is disingenuous, since that used to be the PC as well. If you have to omit stuff to make a point then you don't have a point to make.

man wrote a whole article on some "why the NFL draft should do away with rounds 6 and 7: no success stories, waste of time" energy like there isn't a dead last pick from it about to play in the playoffs for the second straight year.

That's the energy from this.

Patently out of touch and provably incorrect.

:dahell: The PC cost millions of dollars to run and it isn't proven to work better than the previous option.

Ppl in the 6/7 rounds played from little league to college.

PC is mostly filled with ppl who've never wrestled.
This dont even make sense. Every top star came thru wwe developmental pretty much in some way. Whether starting in indies or not I can name 20 people off my head who are all from there. Stupid.

He's specifically made an expectation for former indy guys who the WWE always "touched up" and ran through OVW/FCW.

The issue is the ppl who start from the ground up.
