From a legal perspective, from a reality perspective, from a drunk dudes perspective, from that breh on the block you wouldn't loan $5 to's perspective, to lil g's ma's perspective---he has no leg to stand on. MC eiht tryna bring Kazakh tribal law to US courtsFrom a legal perspective it does seem like GGG is in a pickle here. No title, no step aside.

You know damn well that if it was any fighter other than GGG, then people would be busting Cotto's ass for dropping the belt. People get at fighters all the time for negotiating lame catchweights or ducking mandatories. When it's GGG it is , instead of at Cotto. It's not a Championship fight for Cotto
Again, yes...when the fight was announced, and if Cotto actually got TO defend the WBC Championship, then GGG would be owed the step aside fee. Being that he's no longer Champion, it's null and void because the conditions are:
Miguel Cotto will pay Gennady Golovkin $800,000 the day after defending the World Boxing Council's Middleweight Championship Of The World against Saul Alvarez.
^^^^how are those conditions being met?
Again taking things to fit an anti-GGG narrative, not what his camp is actually saying. GGG has always said he would only fight at 154 vs. Floyd because Floyd is a lottery ticket. Yeah it is about the money...and every other fighter in the world admits they want that lottery ticket vs. Floyd as well. The 154 argument is mute because it applies to every other fighter in existence, and many have said such.Bu-bu-but, yall said GGG only wanted to unify the division
Bu-bu-but, yall said GGG was only interested in fighting for titles
WE have said countless times that him & his team as well as his stans are bogus for constantly stating that, because that's not true. Again:
He was willing to move up to the full 168 for Froch and JCC Jr, but not for SOG...which he was doing it money not Championships or trying to face the best

I don't have a problem with Cotto dropping the belt. You know I've been expecting it. I have been vocal here saying I am rooting for Canelo because I didn't think Cotto would fight GGG. If the deal is right, Canelo won't run from a fight. Still though...this debate on belt/no belt or payoff/no payoff, doesn't matter. That's the facade that people are using to try and style on GGG. GGG and K2 are handling their business they way they want to. We don't think you'll fight us, so we become your mandatory and force you to make a decision. Now we see what your decision is. Had Cotto's mandatory been any 160 fighter other than GGG, you know he wouldn't have dropped the belt.

The 168 is pretty simple as well. He has always said he is not going to move to 168 until he has conquered 160. Notice that the fights at 168 weren't just about the money, K2 has always been clear they are trying to build his brand. They were willing to move to 168 because that is where the PPV fights were (JCC, Froch). Both backed out vs. GGG btw. And Ward...dude couldn't negotiate for 2 years, GGG tried to negotiate with Ward, but Ward wouldn't negotiate on anything until after Lemieux was signed. The Andre Ward who was told by HBO to move up to 175 because there weren't any fights at 168 they wanted to put on their broadcasts and only signed him to his 3 fight deal because it included Kovalev.
