lord of the rings was cgi? :dahell:
damn, they're good.

I only watched the first one back then

They mixed live sets and practical effects with CGI instead of going full computer like most movies do now. Problem is now most directors are too lazy and not creative enough to mix practical with CGI. Much easier to just do everything on a computer so we end up with video games instead of something that feels real and authentic

Look at these trailers :mjcry:

aint no corny ass rap song playing in the back ground :mjcry: actual good actors and actresses :mjcry: I swear I saw an aircraft carrier, which is supposed to be smaller than Godzilla by himself, carrying both Godzilla and Kong :mjcry:

I have no hope for this movie

This pandemic really pisses me off. THis is an IMAX only movie. If you watch this shyt at home, you basically lost 100% of the charm of these kind of movies. They require a screen 20x the size of your vision so you can see the very small details that make all the difference.
watch me give no fukks :mjlit:

I'm not quoting lore or anything but I feel like Skull Island Kong was way bigger than 25 feet

Edit: according to the wiki he's 103' in the 2017 movie.

shyt I was about to say, y’all must’ve been looking at two different movies because in the 2017 movie, Kong was way bigger than 25 feet :dwillhuh:

Hell, the Kong from the 2005 Peter Jackson film (which I thought was dope despite some of its racial connotations throughout) looked more like he was 30 to 50 feet tall than this current incarnation of Kong.

:martin: they really nerfed/dumbed down Godzilla in that trailer. Hes killed much bigger, stronger and powerful threats in this universe already :martin:

Also Kong max size is supposed to be 100 feet tall where Godzilla is supposed to be 400 feet tall but they look eye level here :martin:

i liked Kong Skull Island (kong was only 25 feet in that movie, but he was a kid, but full grown Kong has always been written 50-100 feet). And loved the 2 Godzilla movies (Godzilla already confirmed 400 feet in this universe)

so Kong is 400 feet tall in this movie? :camby:Kong has never been written over 100 feet before to my knowledge :martin:

They overwrote Kong and underwrote Godzilla. As a bigger Godzilla fan than Kong, although I enjoy both, this is incredibly disappointing
I don't know much about this universe
But watching Kong handle Godzilla's nuclear breath was enough to make me :what:
no way he's handling that attack with a radio tower

Which can also be seen in the striking differences in CGI quality between the OG Jurassic Park trilogy and the current Jurassic World trilogy. The latter have been using animatronics (especially in Fallen Kingdom) but noticeably not as much as the OG trilogy, plus the T-Rex now (who’s the same T-Rex from the 1993 JP) looks less bulky, looks blue-grayish, and isn’t as frightening to look at....

The bottom half is almost entirely CGI while the top half is either mostly animatronics or a good balance between animatronics and CG/CGI. Which version of the T-Rex would get you shook the most?

100% agree. The original reboot was perfect. Even Kong: Skull Island was perfect. Grounded in realism. Good acting, not great...great action. These last two films low key jumped the shark. The Godzilla we seeing in these trailers might be mecha Godzilla. Them bio terrorism dudes from the last film apparently created a realistic looking Zilla clone from Ghidoras remains. Huh??
