God's Son is really a sad and depressing album in some ways...

Life is good is almost the polar opposite with almost equal quality, so this is a good comparison...

Lyrically I think LIG has the edge for being lyrically superior...

whats up with "zone out" hate? its pretty dope hard joint imo. Salaam Remi and nas were going for the public enemy sound:

The worst song on God's son was "hey nas".

but Life is good is better lyrically and "musically". LIG is Nas's most musically advanced album ever.

lmao @ comparing the shyt sequentially top to bottom while completely ignoring basics like theme/structure, relation, progression, direction, etc.

you'd be better off comparing the best tracks, the worst, and then the average joints/filler, you imbecile. worst comparison ever

:dead: @

I really hope Life is Good doesn't end up having a Streets Disciple like backlash.

Long time heads know what I mean...

Went from one of his most loved to most despised albums as the years went on...I wish we could up some of those threads the first few months after it was released..

Not only online love, but it got some pretty good reviews when it dropped. It was only when the Source gave it 3 and a half mics that some people were like "oh maybe it aint so hot after all".

Honestly as far as personal albums go...it might be up there with these rather than on the bottom with I am/Nastradamus.

Yeah the SD backlash was headshaking one minute dudes are praising the next they are calling it trash. Funny thing is I believe in a couple of years that will swith up and SD will finally get the credit that it deserves.

As far as this topic goes, I might have to go with GS by the slightest of margins, but LIG has only been out a few weeks so in a couple of months I could change my mind.

I remember vividly when I was lurking SOHH back then that even the infamous FNM members dropped the gimmick for a minute and were praising the shyt outta SD, calling it all types of classic ...which made me go :gladbron:

...then months later when it was revealed that it was the first Nas album that didn't go plat....the hatred and ridicule started.

lol I thought I was the only one who remember this!

same thing happend to "I am" too. Most hiphop fans (and the source) felt that Nas finally found the balance between the gritty sound of Illmatic and the comercial appeal of "it was written".

too early to make this thread...right now I'm loving how LIG flows throughout but Gods Son has a lot of classic tracks like Get Down, Heaven, Dance , Made you Look and Book of Rhymes so its tough
