In another world, it could have been Rebecca Schaeffer but.......well. :mjcry:
:mjcry:
Bardo traveled to Los Angeles a third time and roamed the neighborhood where Schaeffer lived, asking people if she actually lived there.[8] Once he was certain that the address was correct, he rang the doorbell.[20] Schaeffer was preparing for an audition for The Godfather Part III and was expecting a script to be delivered, so she answered the door.[21][22] Bardo showed her a letter and autograph that she had previously sent him; after a short conversation,[23] she asked him not to come to her home again. He went to a diner nearby and had breakfast,[8] then returned to her apartment an hour later.[20] She answered the door with "a cold look on her face", Bardo later said.[12] He pulled out the handgun and shot her in the chest at point-blank range in the doorway of her apartment building.[24] Schaeffer was rushed to the emergency room of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead 30 minutes after her arrival.

This is how I feel too. The other flaw was Michael Jr. It’s fine that he became an opera singer, but they put no conflict behind it.

And the incest subplot was :whoa:
I also think 3 just doesn’t really work in terms of those characters. Everyone feels like versions that don’t feel real to what’s come before. Michael, Connie, the retcons with michaels family. It all feels like grasping for straws at a redemption story that Michael never would’ve wanted or gone for.

and yeah incest

There's a great doc about it - Hearts of Darkness - but basically the filming was a complete catastrophe. Horrible weather, skyrocketing costs, so many script changes that Coppola basically started writing it as he filmed, Sheen getting a heart attack, Hopper coked out of his mind, and Brando - earning a million a week - refusing to learn his lines and trying to improv everything. At one point he singlehandedly stopped production because he couldn't think of anything to improv and wouldn't read from the script. All of this of course happening in the middle of the Filipino jungle.

His wife recorded his phone calls, and he confesses to slowly losing his mind.
Brando was insane during that film. IIRC, he stopped showering.

Different ending? What happened?

The version of Apocalypse Now they used to play on TV ends with shots of the air strike hitting and blowing Kurtz entire village apart as the credits roll.

The Apocalypse Now: Redux version ends with Martin Sheen just getting back on the boat and sailing away.

So its not good?

I actually liked it. I would put it over movies like Carlito's Way or Untouchables, even if its not Godfather or Goodfellas level.
It's probably smart that they're not calling it "Godfather III" anymore, since its structured totally differently than the other 2 movies (e.g. the whole plot takes place between 1979-1980, so it doesn't have that "epic" scope.)

But since it's shorter than before it feels like it moves quickly, and I didn't ever feel like it was dragging. It has the problem that its not really a believable plot to me, but I didn't really find Godfather 2 believable either.
