Billy Gunn was very over but people like to erase that from the history books.
billy gunn when he was a smoking gunn and a new age outlaw was over as fukk..but his other gimmicks were not and downright terrible (mr. ass, rockabilly, the gay shyt with palombo

Damn brehs ya bringin back memories. Godfather was the shyt. Mid carders had shyt goin on. Like everyone had their place. U got a chance to watch them blow up to wwe title status. Now anybody can win a title. Belts get handed over like its nothin. Remember when Vince and criple h was messin wit trish stratus at times. They didnt give a fukk back then. Ecw had a big influence on the WWE back then.
They were SO OVER, I almost forget just how ridiculously over they were. I used to be in school quoting Road Dogg WORD for WORD. In the comments of that video, someone says that the NAO was THIRD in merch sales behind Austin & Rock. Don't know if that's true, but can you even imagine that happening in this era with any of the current tag teams?

Mr. Ass was over. As was "The One" Billy Gunn and the homo team. He never really had a problem drawing heat IMO.
Basically these new cats dont have good gimmicks. Man i used to be able to watch a Raw and see the Godfather come out with some hoes, the Rock verbally assault someone with catchphrases, Val Venus have some funny sex rhyme, DX cracking jokes, etc.... Now nobody has a good gimmick, its just people wrestling under their real names.
