People believe in God because they want to.

It comforts them. Plus they were raised to believe in God usually.

They're not going to stop believing in God because they have no emotional investment in abandoning the delusion and at least some investment in maintaining it.

Of course it is, it was written by man in ancient times. Several texts compiled together, translated over and over... There's bound to be inconsistencies. At the same time you gotta choose what you wanna attack... you're attacking God...and Christians do not have the monopoly on God.

No I'm a Muslim Quranist but obviously muslims differ in what they believe slightly when compared to Christians and Jews. We hold the injeel to be true but altered and misinterpreted. There's one God and we don't ascribe human attributes to him.
