What is the cutoff date for games to be eligible this year? Games eligible for The Game Awards this year must be available for public consumption on or before November 19, 2021. Titles that are released after this date will be eligible for The Game Awards ceremony in 2022.

I'm smelling a Horizon Forbidden West setup. I own an unopened Regalla edition and purchased the digital deluxe to play. I'm copping the Jotnar edition and that ain't up for debate. Not sure if I'm going to open it or purchase the collector's edition and open that one

I get all that. I know how it works.
Still doesn't deem it worthy of Game of The Year off of a few reviewers, but that's just me.
Had it come out on the supposed date of September and they'd let it sizzle, then I believe it would've had a chance at Game of The Year.
Maybe it'll pull off a surprise award like Guardians of The Galaxy did last year for best Story, but that's probably about it.
We'll see.
