Only way this game comes out next year is if it is a cross-gen game. I'm ok with that but I wish it wasn't. Kratos needs to shine in all his glory. I don't think Cory Balrog has a choice in the matter though.

They been working on this since 2019 and the engine is already there so it's not gonna take them as long as it did the first one.

However with that said i fully believe this is gonna get pushed back to 2022.

I thought they worked on this right after GOW so wouldn't that be 2018

GoW was originally gonna have DLC but their ideas were too big for dlc that they just moved it to the next game. So full blown development for this didn't start until 2019.

Yea don't get me wrong. I'm all for it sticking to the 2021 release. I hope it does. BOTW2 and GOW5 within the same 3 months? (We know if either one of them makes it for 2021 it's def gonna be a holiday release)

I'm judging my answers off of the fact that next year isn't even a full year for the PS5 unless it is the launch game and second, the install base won't be there for a God of War, it'll have a decent tail for being God of War but remember, PS4 launched November 2013, GOW came out April 2018. That PS4 installed base might be too tough to ignore. It will likely be an Uncharted game or something where Sony starts to make a clean break from the PS4 to the PS5. Uncharted has all five console versions on the PS4, it really doesn't need another one.

If that's true then it being delayed to 2022 would make it what, 2.5 years at most if it releases May 2022?

Sony did say the PS5 is the easiest to develop for in its history and develop time will be significantly reduced for AAA games
Santa Monica is also a fast developing studio only reason GOW took so long is because they cancelled a game they were working on and they built the GOW engine from scratch

Kratos vs Thor might be the best boss fight in video game history.

I wasn’t even a huge fan of the last one but I can’t front that would be an exciting boss fight

I figured they'd do another trilogy and make Thor the main villain in 2, and Odin the last boss in 3 with you finally seeing Asgard in 3.

Either way I expect this to be better than GOW.

I am excited the game was finally announced but like many am dubious when it comes to the release date. I just don’t see it happening.
