God of War:Ascension Demo out right now

You know what you're getting with the God Of War series, and yeah if it aint broke don't fix it. I know it's not on the level of a Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden, etc. with gameplay, but it's a combination of story, hack n slash, etc that make GOW what it is.

Thought this was known. As good as NG is, the story is trash to me and while gameplay may be superior as far as moves and shyt, I like games with the whole package.

Yeah, GOW's combat mechanics have always indisputably been on a lesser scale than all the other hack n slash games really and they also sought out to be more grand scale cinematic adventure/action/puzzle-platformer light than all the rest of the more action-foremost focused games of the genre too. So I've kinda looked at them in a different ilk and stopped comparing it to them much as such over the years, cuz in reality, it just don't compare.

I haven't played the demo yet, but from a story standpoint, I don't even see where else they can go, so maybe they should've tried to go elsewhere with that and maybe the could've even did something more with the gameplay mechanics to some extents within doing that. I'm fan of the series, so I'm sure I'll cop eventually, but I doubt a day 1 cuz my interest has waned and this just seems like a pointless padded on sequel/prequel/reboot/what the fukk is it even really, as I do no know.

My idea for the series would be either a start it up with Kratos challenging Gods of other mythologies or even a totally new protagonist also within a different mythological setting/theme.

I don't. I haven't bought a halo or COD game in years. Although I do plan to get halo in the near future
