He's wide the fukk open on that play, what are you talking about? Two steps on the corner with the safety with his back turned. All Smith has to do is throw it up cuz there's no defender that would be able to get to that ball. The accuracy didn't really matter, just get it out there and let Hill run under it. considering hill is fast as fukk, hes open by having two steps on the corner, but at the moment throw is made he isnt really wide open. in fact, there are like 3 receivers way more open with no defenders within 5 yards of them. gilmore (and to lesser degree mccourty) blows this play even more by also slowing down for no reason. mccourty is way too preoccupied with kelce.
If Smith waits until Hill is "wide open" by your definition he wouldn't be able to get the ball that far down the field or Hill would have had to slow up, allowing Gilmore to recover.
