I watched the Week 1 game last night... we aren't winning in SF. I don't know what these experts are drinking on. Rodgers is still having issues he had back then with holding the ball and missing big plays.
Sure, defense is a lot better but we can't stop mobile QBs or TEs over the middle.
Packers should be 7 point underdogs.
Niners safety Donte Whitner believes defensive tackle Justin Smith is nearly back to full strength.
His evidence: Smith has spent the week pushing around an offensive lineman Jim Harbaugh once termed probably the largest man Ive ever stood toe-to-toe and knee-to-knee with in my entire life.
On Thursday, Whitner was asked if he needed to wait until the first snaps of Saturdays game against Green Bay to gauge how effective Smith could be while playing with a partially torn left triceps. Whitner shook his head and noted how Smith has fared against Mt. Leonard Davis in practice this week. The 6-foot-6, 355-pound Davis has been Smiths weeklong combatant.
When youre out there and against a big guy like Leonard Davis and youre pushing him around with both arms, I dont think you really have a problem, Whitner said. Hes one of the biggest offensive guards in the National Football league. So to be able to go out there and practice against him all week and be able to control him and move around with both arms, I think Justin showed a lot by doing that.
I think hell be 95 percent Leonard Davis is a large guy and hes not out there just pass-setting every play. Hes coming off and Justin has been testing himself and moving him around. Hes been doing a good job all week. The gloves have been off. Hell be ready for us.
Ninety-five percent? I tracked down Davis to get his assessment of Smiths condition. Is he at close to full strength?
I think so, Davis said. As far as percentage-wise, its hard to tell. Its not like we have pads on, so its not like we can really go at it. Its hard to really say Its not a walkthrough tempo. Its not full-speed game tempo. But were out there moving quick.
In other words, Smith probably wont know exactly how his left arm will respond until he tests it in the trenches against a hostile opponent.
But it sounds as if he cleared a, well, enormous hurdle during practice this week.
Looks like Cowboy will be better than Okay...according to Whitner

Justin got in touch with Adrian Peterson's doctor I see.
I hope to God he can be 90%, that defense is gonna rally around him, this could be Cowboys last legitimate shot at a ring.

This is where smileys go wrong, don't even know what you're trying to insinuate with this.
Elaborate.

edit: Nevermind.
