Failed is a strong word but I strongly prefer "IW". Mostly because it focused on Thanos. Who was like the 90's Bulls during the whole movie.

And that alone makes it better than "Endgame". Because in every MCU movie prior to "IW", the villain got defeated. Then, after "IW", they went right back to the same formula of the villain being defeated. :francis:

Which is honestly inevitable given the nature of these movies but they're going to struggle to replicate the hype of Thanos. Because people went from thinking he's a chump sitting on a chair not doing anything to :merchant: pretty much as soon as "IW" started. The only way to improve on that is make whatever new major villain they use hand the good guys L's across multiple movies.

Endgame is just a boring movie for the first two hours, and fails to capitalize on the stakes raised at the end of Infinity War.

I've posted this video before in the End Game thread but I'll post it again for people who haven't seen it. It's a "What If?" scenario on what would happen if half the world disappeared.

I think what people also don't realize is how horrifying it would be if half of the population returned five years later after people have accepted what had happened and tried to get back to some normalcy. I've read some articles in the past year and that scenario would be chaotic.
You and your Avengers friends just had to bring everyone back, didn't you? :leostare:

Don’t think either failed. Homie, you gotta be better with this thread title lol.

They’re both different movies accomplishing different things and i think they both pulled it off. If anything, I’d give the nod to endgame more because it feels more like a complete movie from start to finish. Infinity war feels like all third act and setup. But it still works cause of the emotional stakes

Because IW had a better story for one Endgame could have done more with time traveling they could’ve retcon some stuff and they ruined thor and hulk. But IW ruined hulk as well

Yeah, what they've done to Hulk starting with Ragnarok has been :francis:

With Endgame, we knew time travel was going to be the thing so it wasn't surprising. Didn't like killing Tony either.

But FAIL is a complete exaggeration.

I’d argue killing tony was the perfect end to his arc. There was really nothing left for him the minute after avengers ended. I’ll miss the character but it makes complete sense to take him off the board

I get it and don't disagree, just wished they found another way. RDJ was the GOAT. We wanted him for the role of IM, he got it, and the rest was history.

His royalty checks off of this though are :damn:

Yeah I’m lost :russ: I’m not even a general consensus dude but if that’s the basis of the argument here, the argument is faulty as fukk
I've warmed up a bit on Endgame, yet still don't find it to be special. But I'm aware I'm one out of 7+ billion people. The movie has resonated with a ridiculously large amount of people. Objectively, I can look at it and admit it's the succesful culmination of a once in a lifetime cinematic undertaking. Whatever my movie nerd opinions about it are, I can't abide by it being called a failure using any metric:yeshrug:

As far as IW vs EG, I've been a vocal supporter of IW>>>>>>>>EG. Thanos being the centerpiece of IW was huge. For fans of comic books, and movies in general, a property this big ending with the villain smiling at his successful work was huge. My theater was dead silent at the end of IW. The balls to do that, even though any of us with sense knew everything was gonna be fine by the end of the next movie, was impressive, especially for a Disney flick.

Biggest reason I think establishing the Fantastic Four is more important than the X-men, right now. That way, you get Dr Doom and Galactus, who are viable villains to drop L's on everyone multiple times. Ultron should come back as well, but I don't see that happening on the big screen. Same with Hela

I think Ultron coming back is Hela unlikely, breh.
