The broad testing programs that sports implemented could’ve been done at schools
test teachers daily and test 3 random kids in a classroom daily
virtual learning doesn’t work for any grade level
The biggest reason that wouldn't work is the country doesn't have even close to the testing resources. Doing it for a few dozen sports teams is nothing like doing it for 130,000 schools.
At the peak in the USA we were testing less than 2 million people a day. There are around 3.7 million teachers and 56 million students in America, so you're talking at least 9 million EXTRA tests that would need to be processed nationally every day. No fukking way would that be viable, where would the resources come from to quintuple the production of tests, hire over 100,000 nurses to administer tests to kids, and process 5x as many tests in labs?
There are other reasons it would fail but that's the most clearly insurmountable.
