The story of this pandemic has been the failure of local governments to do their jobs.

-getting a simple permit or inspection? Good luck.

-criminals having their cases deferred or getting early releases due to covid. Now crimes up. Who could have guessed?

-a wave of evictions are coming. (We knew this 15 months ago) so the fed government took steps to fund the states to help and the states did what exactly?

Meanwhile local government staff have been working from home. And claiming that productivity is up. LMAO.

Extending the moratorium is a feel good exercise. The system needs to work. People facing eviction need to get in front of judges. The judges can make decisions about who needs resources and who needs to vacate.

I don't think the part in bold is correlated to the spike in violent to crime in all honesty. People are still trying to figure out what's driving that. The odd thing is it's specifically violent crime and only violent crime that's up like this. Article below does a good job of detailing it, I don't like this shyt where we make rash decisions about this stuff. That's how we end up with another crime bill

Murders are up. Crime is not. What’s going on?

I agree that we don’t know all of the reasons that violent crime is up. I’m still laying that at the feet of local government. Throw the police slowdown in response to BLM on my list of local government failures.

What do you mean by "Police slowdown" I've heard nothing about that? Despite all the talk about cutting funding that never happened and most departments received more funding unfortunately.

He means police across the country are protesting by not working that hard to combat crime. Either through not working that hard or the rash of retirements that has taken place.

It’s not anything official, but the slowdown seems to come from the police unions as a response to oversight and threats to take away their funding. The same thing happened in Baltimore after the Freddy Grey riots.

The unions need to be crushed or the police disbanded and started over. Doesn’t matter anyways because they never did shyt for anyone except the rich and themselves in the first place. ACAB

I agree 100%

You know it’s an issue when this is the only union conservatives support.

You have to disband the departments and make everyone go through the hiring process again. With actual scrutiny.

The fact that we're even having a conversation about being at the mercy of public servants armed to the teeth who's fukking bills we pay is so problematic if I described it to you as a movie you'd assume it was some shytty dystopian futuristic genre of movie.

She asking for an unhoused Bill of Rights too. The realist. :wow:

Let’s go

:salute: Cori Bush

Stopped by the Capitol yesterday

She made a hell of a name for herself with this. :wow:

Cori Bush has always been a real one. Don't let anyone tell you different.

The humble power she just displayed is :wow:

Cori Bush :salute:

Of course the TLR thread on this was attacking her and blaming her for every government shortcoming in this area. :mjlol:
