I remember there was a thread when she was supposed to be in that Aaliyah biopic and you had several people saying she wasn't Black/not Black enough. Now you have people claiming she's Black. I'm with you on this: I don't get the strong desire to claim mixed people. If they want to identity with the Black experience/identity full-time, cool, otherwise . What's also funny is the same people who love to claim mixed folks are the same ones upset when said mixed people switch up after using the Black identity for personal benefit.
